Hi! My name is Mrs. Gordon and I am so excited to be a part of the Northside first grade team! More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! I want to know all about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.
In 2005 my husband and I moved to Charlotte, NC. There I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I taught Kindergarten in Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools my first year as a teacher. In 2009 we decided to move back home to the Bluegrass. For three years I taught first and second grade in the Nelson County School District. I recently graduated from the University of the Cumberlands earning my M.A. in Education (Read and Write Specialist). This will be my fourth year at Northside teaching my favorite grade again…1st! I love first grade because I know just where you’re coming from and exactly where you need to go! Having experience in both Kindergarten and 2nd will really help me challenge you to reach for the stars this year!
When I’m not teaching I like to watch movies and spend time with my family.
